Sketchnotes
As visual learners, we are big fans of sketchnotes as a way of processing information. For those of your that haven't encountered sketchnotes, it's a form of visual notetaking, or "purposeful doodles," students synthesize learning using text, images, shapes, colors, and connectors.
We created an organizer that explains the concept to kids with simple directions. Use this activity after having kids read, watch a film clip, or even explore a website. It's versatile. As with any notetaking strategy, it probably won't be for everyone. Try to introduce students to lots of different
note-taking methods so that they can ultimately choose what works best for them.
